Gary LewisSpeech Language PathologistGary Lewis received his B.A. in Political Science from UCLA. After graduation, he gained well-rounded experience working in a number of professions and jobs, one of which was working at Fox Sports and producing highlights and writing scripts for the sports anchors. After moving to San Diego eight years ago, he began working for a software company and became a consultant. Though he was successful, he found that he was lacking a sense of fulfillment. He had an epiphany one day- he wanted to help people. With a knack for teaching, a love for kids of all ages, and the desire to help both kids and adults in a therapeutic setting, he decided that the field of speech and language would be a great choice. He received his master’s degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Redlands. While earning his master’s degree, Gary had the opportunity to work in the public schools in the San Bernardino district and more recently, with children in the Solana Beach school district. He has solid experience working with children ranging from toddlers to high school aged and in treating various populations, including depressed language skills, phonology and articulation, fluency, and social language. He also has enjoyed working with adults in both acute and rehabilitative settings treating cognitive deficits, aphasia, and apraxia. |
