Nancy SussmanTutorA native Californian, Nancy has been professionally serving the needs of people with speech, hearing, and learning difficulties for many years. She received a BA in Communicative Disorders in 1978 and an MS in Audiology in 1980 from San Francisco State University. Nancy began her career providing diagnostic evaluations, aural (re)habilitation, auditory and speech therapy for people with special needs in a state hospital setting. While raising her family, she performed diagnostic audiological and hearing aid evaluations for patients seeing the otolaryngologist in private practice. As a Transition Specialist and Instructional Aide for Special Education in a public high school, she worked as a liaison for students, parents, teachers, schools, and outside agencies to determine the most appropriate path following a student’s graduation. She also enjoyed providing classroom, small group, and individual instruction with students with developmental and/or learning disabilities. Throughout the years Nancy has found private tutoring to be a most mutually rewarding and successful endeavor. A newcomer to San Diego, she’s excited to be joining a wonderful team of practitioners in tutoring. In addition to her talents as a tutor, Nancy has national certification as a Massage Therapist and has been an Instructor of massage at several career colleges. She maintains a small private practice and provides chair massage for companies and events. |
