Julia Sauder, M.S. Clinical Fellow
Julia Sauder was born and raised in Kaneohe, Hawaii. For a change of scenery and to spend time with extended family, she spent her first two years of college in Tennessee. She then relocated to Loma Linda University in Southern California. There she completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and continued on to receive her Master’s of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Loma Linda University as well.
During her time at Loma Linda, Julia spent many weekends escaping the Inland Empire heat here in San Diego. These weekends led to a love for the coastal cities that Northern San Diego has to offer. She is not ready to move back to Hawaii, and this place had grabbed her heart.
Loma Linda University provided Julia with an extensive array of clinical experiences over her four years of attendance. She loved working with children of all ages. She enjoyed leading social groups and tried to make learning exciting and personal to each child.
Julia leads social thinking groups here at JKS. She also conducts individual therapy sessions for children with receptive and expressive language delays and speech production difficulties and provides literacy support. She loves being able to know students on a personal level and intertwining their interests into therapy sessions.
When Julia is not working, she enjoys spending her time outside being active at the beach or in the mountains. She also loves to travel with her twin sister every opportunity she gets.
